Minnesota announces Gary Tinsley Memorial Fund

Tuesday April 10th, 2012

The University of Minnesota has established a memorial fund named for linebacker Gary Tinsley, the Golden Gophers' 2011 team leader in sacks and tackles for loss who died last week at 22. From the press release:

Managed by Gopher Athletics' Golden Gopher Fund, the memorial fund will provide fans with an opportunity to help off-set Gary's funeral expenses as well as the travel costs for his teammates to attend his funeral in Florida.

Fans interested in donating to the Gary Tinsley Memorial Fund may do so via the Golden Gopher Fund website at goldengopherfund.com. There is also a direct link to the Golden Gopher Fund website on the front page of gophersports.com

Tinsley's funeral is scheduled for this coming Saturday. The Gophers are back at work today, following a Friday candlelight vigil and the cancellation of Saturday's practice. Minnesota wraps spring ball with the Gopher Spring Game on April 21.
