WKU players recovering from shooting

Monday April 16th, 2012

Two Western Kentucky football players remain hospitalized after a shooting at an off-campus nightclub in the wee hours of Sunday morning. Best news first: According to a school release, both are expected to make it.

WKU football student-athletes Tevin Holliman and Ricardo Singh each sustained a single gunshot wound last night outside the Lava Lounge, located off campus in Bowling Green. Neither Holliman or Singh were in possession of a gun. Both are receiving hospital care, and neither has sustained life-threatening injuries. Head Coach Willie Taggart has spoken with the parents of each player. WKU is in the process of gathering more information.
A not-so-bright spot: As of this afternoon, the gunman, who reportedly fired into a crowd outside the club, wounding both Singh and Holliman, has yet to be identified. Our very best wishes to both players for a swift and full recovery, and to the Bowling Green police for a speedy investigation.
