Ohio State coach Urban Meyer is 90 percent confident quarterback Braxton Miller will play in this weekend's Big Ten opener against Wisconsin, and that confidence should reach 100 percent by Saturday, the coach said at his weekly press conference. (H/T Bill Rabinowitz of the Columbus Dispatch)
Miller missed two straight games after injuring his MCL against San Diego State in Week 2, when he left after only one quarter of play. Senior Kenny Guiton stepped in to finish the game against San Diego State and start against Cal and Florida A&M, completing 64-of-94 passes for 643 yards, 12 touchdowns and two interceptions. Against the Rattlers, Guiton set an Ohio State single-game record with six touchdown passes, all thrown in the first half.
Last week Meyer said he still expects to use Guiton in certain situations once Miller returns to the starting role.
