Miami (Ohio) fires head coach Don Treadwell after 0-5 start
Everyone, it's Oct. 6. How is the coaching carousel in full bloom already? Miami (Ohio) headman Don Treadwell was the latest casualty thrown onto the coaching pyre, as the RedHawks announced he would be relieved of his duties on Sunday.
From the official release:
“I have decided to make a change in our football leadership now in hopes of seeing improved performance for the rest of the season,” said [Miami athletic director David] Sayler. “Miami University takes the interest of our student-athletes seriously and this decision is the result of the past nine months since I’ve been on the job."
Treadwell went 4-8 the past two seasons at Miami, but took a big step back so far this year, starting 0-5 with just 44 total points. After a 21-9 loss to Central Michigan, another struggling team, Sayler must have seen enough of a squad that was at or near the bottom of FBS in a variety of statistical metrics.
