Northwestern to wear special Wounded Warrior uniforms against Michigan

Monday November 4th, 2013

Northwestern will take on Michigan on Nov. 16 at Ryan Field wearing special uniforms to promote the Wounded Warrior Project, the Wildcats announced on Monday.

The custom Under Armour uniforms, featuring American flag patterns on the shoulders, helmet and gloves, seek to raise awareness and support for the nonprofit organization, which works to honor and empower the country's wounded veterans.

The grey uniforms will replace players' last names on the back of each jersey with one of seven "core value" qualities: Duty, Honor, Courage, Commitment, Integrity, Country and Service. The jerseys will be auctioned after the game with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the Wounded Warrior Project.
