College football Week 7 odds: Betting odds for most notable matchups

Betting odds for the most notable matchups of Week 6 of the college football season, including Michigan–Michigan State, Alabama–Texas A&M and Florida-LSU.

The 12th-ranked Michigan Wolverines (5–1) have played about as well as any team in the country over the past month, which is why they are consensus 7.5-point home favorites against the seventh-ranked Michigan State Spartans (6–0) for Saturday’s annual intrastate rivalry game at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

Led by first-year head coach Jim Harbaugh, the Wolverines have blanked each of their last three opponents, handing the 20th-ranked Northwestern Wildcats their first loss in a 38–0 rout last week as 10.5-point home chalk.

Michigan State is coming off a 31–24 road victory against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights last Saturday to remain unbeaten, but the team has yet to cover the spread this season. The Spartans were 12.5-point road favorites at Rutgers, and another close win made them drop in the rankings for the second straight week.

However, MSU is riding a 10-game winning streak dating back to last season and has gone a perfect 7–0 against the spread in the past seven meetings with Michigan according to the OddsShark College Football Database. Michigan State has also won 11 straight road games versus Big Ten opponents to go along with a 9–2 mark ATS.

Northwestern (5–1) will get a chance to bounce back at home on Saturday against the 17th-ranked Iowa Hawkeyes (6–0), who are coming off a 29–20 win over the Illinois Fighting Illini last week.

Iowa fell just short of covering as a 10-point home favorite against Illinois after beating the number in four of its first five games. The Wildcats have won six of their last eight meetings with the Hawkeyes at home.

Two other big games between top-25 teams will take place in the SEC, as the 10th-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide (5–1) visit the ninth-ranked Texas A&M Aggies (5–0) and the sixth-ranked LSU Tigers (5–0) host the eighth-ranked Florida Gators (6–0).

STAPLES: All is far from lost for Florida despite Will Grier’s suspension

Alabama is a four-point road betting favorite against Texas A&M and has won nine of its last 10 conference games, including a 59–0 blowout of the Aggies as 11.5-point home chalk last year.

Florida will be without starting quarterback Will Grier the rest of the season after he was suspended following a positive test for a performance-enhancing drug. LSU is a seven-point favorite and features Heisman Trophy favorite Leonard Fournette, as the sophomore running back leads the nation in rushing with 1,022 yards to go along with 12 touchdowns.
