College football Week 10 odds: Betting odds for the biggest games
Following a week off, the top two teams in college football will be back in action as the No. 1-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes (8-0) join the second-ranked Baylor Bears (7-0) and five other teams in the top 10 that will put their undefeated records on the line.
Baylor will kick off Week 10 for the unbeatens by visiting the Kansas State Wildcats (3-4) in a Big 12 battle on Thursday night with a new quarterback under center. The Bears are consensus 17.5-point road favorites but recently lost starting quarterback Seth Russell for the season due to a neck injury.
Heisman Watch: Lack of marquee games produces no major changes
Filling in for the junior signal-caller the rest of the way will be true freshman Jarrett Stidham, a four-star recruit who has seen limited action in seven games. Stidham has completed 24 of 28 passes for 331 yards with six touchdowns and no interceptions.
Baylor cannot afford to lose to Kansas State here if it wants any chance of making the College Football Playoff field. The Wildcats are mired in a four-game losing streak, but they are 7-2 against the spread in their last nine games as home underdogs according to the OddsShark College Football Database and 12-3 ATS in their past 15 games at home against conference opponents.
Defending national champion Ohio State is a 23-point home favorite against the Minnesota Golden Gophers, who are 7-2 ATS in their last nine games after a loss.
Minnesota is coming off a tough 29-26 home loss to the 16th-ranked Michigan Wolverines (6-2) after failing to score the game-winning touchdown from the one-yard line as time expired. The Golden Gophers still covered the spread as 11-point underdogs, but they have lost nine in a row to the Buckeyes, going 3-6 ATS.
Ohio State will be going back to Cardale Jones as the team’s starting quarterback after J.T. Barrett was arrested on suspicion of DUI last Saturday. Barrett had been named the starter a week earlier.
The biggest game of the week, however, will be in the SEC as the fourth-ranked LSU Tigers (7-0) visit the seventh-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide (7-1).
The Tigers are led by Heisman Trophy favorite Leonard Fournette, as the sophomore running back is leading the nation in rushing with 1,352 yards and 15 touchdowns. The road team in this matchup has won four of the past five meetings, and LSU would have to pull off the upset as a six-point underdog to keep that trend going.
Alabama is 0-5 ATS in its last five home games but has won nine of its past 10 games during the month of November.
