College football odds: Stanford favored over Notre Dame at home

Stanford is favored by four points over College Football Playoff hopeful Notre Dame

The Stanford Cardinal are 4–2 straight up and 3–3 against the spread in their last six games against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, including a 3–0 SU and 2–1 ATS record in their last three games at home. The No. 9 Cardinal will try to spoil No. 6 Notre Dame's shot at a College Football Playoff berth with a win over the Fighting Irish on Saturday.

Stanford is a four-point betting favorite at home, according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. In each of the Cardinal's last three home games against Notre Dame, they have won by at least a touchdown.

Stanford’s own playoff hopes took a major hit from its 38–36 loss to Oregon two weeks ago. But the Cardinal bounced back with a 35–22 win over California to clinch the Pac-12 North and punch their ticket to the conference title game. Stanford has been one of the top teams in the nation this season with a 9–1 SU and 8–2 ATS record over its last 10 games.

Week 13 college football picks: UCLA at USC, Notre Dame at Stanford, more

In their past 10 games as home favorites, the Cardinal are 8–2 SU and 7-2-1 ATS, per the OddsShark College Football Database.

Notre Dame hasn't been helping its playoff case with style points of late going 1–3 ATS in its last four games, including an ugly 19–16 road win over Boston College last week. The Irish fell from No. 4 to No. 6 after the win over the Eagles

Still, Notre Dame has avoided completely blowing its playoff chances with a bad loss, going 10–1 SU and 7–4 ATS this season with the team's only loss coming against undefeated Clemson. Notre Dame is just 3–6 SU and 4–5 ATS in its last nine games on the road.

The total in Saturday's game is 56 points. The UNDER is 5–1 in Stanford's last six games in November and 4–1 in Notre Dame's last five games played in Week 13.

If the Irish can pull off a road win over Stanford, they would make a strong case to the playoff committee in their final game of the regular season.
