Host Tyler Martin is joined by former University of Alabama defensive tackle Rudy Griffin for a special edition of the All Things Bama Podcast.

Griffin played at the Capstone from 2003-2005 and was a starter during the 2004 and 2005 campaigns that saw Alabama have the No. 1 defense in the country back-to-back years. He finished his Crimson Tide career with 33 total tackles, two fumble recoveries, and one interception.

He earned SEC Player of the Week honors in 2005 for his efforts against Mississippi State in Alabama's 17-0 win that season.

During the show, he goes into great detail how he got to Tuscaloosa exactly. Griffin started his college football career at the Citadel, where he was a two-year starter from 2001-2002.

After joining Alabama's practice squad in 2003, he earned a full scholarship from former coach Mike Shula in the spring of 2004. He discusses what his relationship with Shula was like and how instrumental he has been for him, since he has started his own coaching career.

Griffin is now in his first season as head football coach at Bessemer City High School in Bessemer, Ala. He also shares the challenges COVID-19 has presented for his team and what his expectations are for them this upcoming season.

The show is available on Apple, Google Podcasts, Spotify, and Anchor. Former guests of the podcast include Eli Gold, Chris Stewart, Bryan Passink, Wimp Sanderson, Barrett Jones, Mike Johnson, Cory Reamer, Bradley Bozeman, Will Lowery, Lawson Schaffer, Kolby Robinson, Shaun Dion Hamilton, Jason Caffey, Kenneth Darby, Keith McCants, JC Latham, John Garcia Jr. and more.
