TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The recognition continues for the freshman out of Antioch, Tenn.

Alabama true freshman Brandon Miller has been named as a top-10 finalist for the 2023 Julius Irving Award, the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced on Wednesday afternoon.

The Julius Irving Award goes yearly to the top small forward in college basketball.

Miller is the only representative from the SEC and is one of two freshmen — the other being Ohio State's Brice Sensabaugh.

Miller is averaging 18.8 points and 8.2 rebounds per game. He has been on fire from beyond the arc this season, shooting an impressive 44.2% from deep.

Miller is already a five-time SEC Freshman of the Week honoree.

To go along with the honors from the Julius Irving Award, Miller is also in the top-20 for the John R. Wooden Award — given to college basketball's top overall player.

Miller and the third-ranked Crimson Tide are in action on Wednesday night against the Florida Gators. Tipoff from Coleman Coliseum is set for 8 p.m. CT on ESPN2.
