• Crimson Tide guard Kira Lewis Jr . met with reporters to talk about winning a gold medal with the U.S. National Team in the 2019 Men’s Basketball U19 World Cup in Greece (video from WZDX News). “The first time I got it, I probably had it on all night,” he said.”The day after, it got a little heavy on my neck so I took it off.”

• Alabama swimming and diving ranked fifth among all NCAA Division I teams in Scholar-Americans named by College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) with 30. • Alabama junior Wilson Furr qualified for the 119th U.S. Amateur Championship, which will be held Aug. 12-18 at Pinehurst Resort and Country Club in Pinehurst, N.C. He carded a 36-hole total of 9-under par 135 (66-69) to earn one of the two automatic spots out of the Madison, Miss., qualifier at Reunion Golf and Country Club.

The NCAA put North Carolina State on notice about alleged recruiting violations committed within the men's basketball program under Mark Gottfried. The former Alabama coach and his then-assistant Orlando Early could be tagged with a "show-cause" penalty. Gottfried went 123-86 over five seasons with the Wolfpack through 2017, and was hired at Cal State Northridge in 2018. continued its list of the top 100 players in college football this season, releasing No. 26-50, with No. 39 Jaylen Waddle and No. 32 Alex Leatherwood.
