• Nick Saban’s schedule for the ESPN car wash on Thursday:

• Linebacker C.J. Mosley was listed at No. 71 and running back Mark Ingram Jr. 80th in the NFL Network’s “Top 100 Players of 2019,” as selected by the league’s players. The network is announcing 10 players per day.

• The New York Jets opened training camp without first-round draft pick Quinnen Williams, who has yet to agree to a contract.

• The Alabama track and field team has numerous athletes set to compete at the U.S., Canadian and Trinidad Outdoor Championships this week. Among them, Shelby McEwen (high jump), Robert Dunning (110-meter hurdles), Bobby Colantonio Jr. (hammer throw), Kord Ferguson (shot put/discus) and Keitavious Walter (100 meters/200 meters) will compete at the USATF Championships in Des Moines, Iowa.

• Alabama’s Mazen Osama and Patrick Kaukovalta were the first players in program history named to the annual Collegiate All-Star Team by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. The NCAA doubles runner-up was honored with the top student-athletes of the 2018-19 season from all five divisions of college tennis.

• The Chargers signed former Alabama and Louisiana-Monroe running back Derrick Gore. After transferring to get more playing time the former Crimson Tide walk-on tallied 1,247 rushing yards for the Warhawks over two seasons.

July 25, 1930: With Wallace Wade having already made the decision to leave at the end of the season and become the head coach at Duke, Alabama announced it had hired Georgia associate coach Frank Thomas to be his replacement effective January 1, 1931.
