Did you notice?

• Nick Saban was vague about how he’ll use punters Will Reichard and Skyler DeLongthis week. “I think Jeff [Banks] does a really good job with our special teams. I also think he does a great job with our specialists. I think those guys have made a significant amount of improvement. At times we haven’t performed as well in the games as we’re capable of, but it’s early and these guys are young so hopefully we’ll develop a little more consistency in the way we manage them as well as the way they’re able to perform in the game.”

• Emma Talley has a message for the women’s golf team:

• Team USA, which included Alabama golf commitment Michaela Morard, held off a change by Team Europe to claim its fourth straight victory in the PING Junior Solheim Cup. Said American captain Mary Bea Porter-King: “‘It was quite the victory, very close, it went up and down all day, they were ahead, then behind. I’m exhausted and I didn’t hit a shot.”The event is for golfers ages 12-18 and is modeled after the Solheim Cup, which pits the U.S. against the 12 best junior girls from Europe. The two-day tournament was held at Gleneagles, Scotland.

• Tuesday was Alabama basketball’s photo/video day:

• Sports Illustrated posted its 2020 NFL Draft mock 2.0, which had six Alabama players going in the first round:

1] Tua Tagovailoa, Miami Dolphins

3] Jerry Jeudy, New York Giants

22] Trevon Diggs, Pittsburgh Steelers

23] Dylan Moses, Baltimore Ravens

24] Raekwon Davis, Minnesota Vikings

25] Henry Ruggs III, Green Bay Packers

On this date in Crimson Tide history:

September 12, 1987: Running back Bobby Humphrey ran for 220 yards on 27 carries to help lead Alabama to a 24-13 win over reigning national champion Penn State. However, Alabama's string of 199 consecutive extra points successfully made ended when freshman Philip Doyle slipped on the wet turf after Humphrey scored on a 73-yard run in the first quarter.

Crimson Tide quote of the day:

“Offense sells tickets. Defense wins games.” – Paul W. “Bear” Bryant
