Jalen Hurts is this Week's BamaCentral Pro Athlete of the Week

Hurts' off-the-field gesture secures him the top spot in this week's honor

Former Alabama and Oklahoma quarterback and current Philadelphia Eagle Jalen Hurts is this week's BamaCentral Pro Athlete of the Week.

While the NFL season has yet to start and the teams are still in fall camp preparing for the upcoming season, Hurts' motivational actions off the field are the reason for his week's win.

6-year-old Alexander August of Baton Rouge, La. is a big fan of Jalen Hurts and a huge football fan in general. Every year, he and his older brother, Brayden, pick their favorite football player and get a backpack for school with their favorite player on it.

This season, Alexander picked Hurts.

After a photo with Alexander's backpack went viral, Hurts took to ordering a custom backpack of his own, crafting a very similar blue backpack with the name 'Alexander' on it.

The sweet gesture by Hurts and his demonstrated kindness is why he deserves the top spot as this week's BamaCentral Pro Athlete of the Week.
