Heeke got a 1 year extension and a one hundred thousand $ raise. Someone likes him.

Actually, there are some observers who think this move by Robbins is a strengthening of Heeke's position vis a vis should he have to make a move on Sumlin.

I don't think Sumlin realistically could be let go financially, unless for cause.

But his buyout goes down to 7.5 million in January. His salary also goes up to 3.5 Million in January, from 2 million.

Heeke just got a baffling extension and Sumlin is back for at least one more year.

The more one interacts with Heeke in public the more you see how phony and disingenuous he is. He has no "vision", he doesn't connect with the community, and he is the definition of a "corporate" AD,,,,, meanwhile his real number one job is to gain and recruit new donors and he hasn't added ONE major donor. All he can do is kiss butt the one donor UofA has...the Davis's and he didn't even recruit them@! Worthless AD.

I always got the same feeling from Byrne, that he was more salesman than leader. While Livengood had his faults, he seemed to really care about the school and the town. He was not great at fundraising and that seems to be more important than being an administrator/leader.

I agree...mostly because of how badly they have handled Sean Miller. The Sumlin choice looked good on paper. Due diligence may have been lacking, but it sure seemed like the right hire. I am more forgiving of them for that...although they need to fix it.
