Walker Kessler strengthens ROTY case with a 30/10 game

Should Walker Kessler win Rookie of the Year?

Walker Kessler had a monster game for the Jazz on Saturday night.

The rookie had 31 points, 11 rebounds, two assists, one block, and one steal.

Thirty-one points is Kessler's career high for his young NBA campaign, but the craziest part about his stat line is that he was 14-16 from the field.

This was Kessler's 19th career double-double, and this game made him the first Jazz rookie in history to have 30+ points and 10+ rebounds in a single game.

Kessler's shot-blocking ability has been one of his biggest strengths, as he has iced two games over the last few weeks by swatting away a potential game-tying or go-ahead basket.

Kessler is currently fourth in the NBA, blocking 2.3 shots per game. They don't call him Blocker Kessler for nothing!

The Kia Rookie Ladder has Kessler third behind Paolo Banchero and Jaylen Williams. Hopefully, over this last handful of games, Kessler can continue to be more assertive on the offensive side of the floor and continue scoring a ton.

He has a real chance at winning Rookie of the Year if he keeps playing this well.

Kessler has developed so much in one season, so it will be scary to see what he does in year two.
