Auburn Fall Scrimmage Notes: Saturday August 12th

Here's what we heard about Auburn's first scrimmage of fall camp.

Auburn's first fall scrimmage was Saturday morning, wrapping up the first full week of fall practice this August.

The open viewing window was canceled for the media but various groups were still able to attend.

We've gotten word from a few different sources, what we were able to confirm via multiple sources has been put below.

Holden Geriner had a great day among the quarterbacks. Early in the scrimmage, he took over the starting offense and marched them down the field and scored.

Robby Ashford was inconsistent but may have had the throw of the day. He left the pocket and had an elite throw on the run to Koy Moore.

Toward the end of the scrimmage, Ashford had a long pass down to the one-yard line, and Jarquez Hunter punched it in for the score.

Geriner threw a touchdown pass to Jyaire Shorter after Sean Jackson broke a long run.

Shane Hooks had a big gain on a slant, making multiple people miss.

Long runs were a theme today based on sources. Brian Battie had multiple long runs and was instantly considered a winner from the scrimmage on Saturday. Damari Altson broke a long run for a touchdown as well. One source said the run was for 50 yards, another said 60 - regardless, Alston broke a long run for a score. Alston would score again later in the scrimmage.

On defense, Elijah McAllister had a good day. He earned a sack, and a batted pass, and was involved in multiple plays.

One source told me Auburn tight end Rivaldo Fairweather was "Ungauardable."

I'm sure more news will come out from this scrimmage throughout the day. We will try to update this post with what we're hearing.
