Mississippi State wide receiver Caleb Ducking has entered the transfer portal

Former Mississippi State wideout Caleb Ducking has entered the transfer portal.

Mississippi State is losing a talented wide receiver as Caleb Ducking plans to enter the transfer portal.

Ducking caught 46 passes for 477 yards and eight touchdowns in 2022 for the Bulldogs.

One of these touchdowns came against Auburn, where he brought in two passes for 31 yards and the score.

Ducking has the size to fit in well with a Hugh Freeze offense, as he is six-foot-five, 200-pounds.

He has the perfect mix of speed and size that can cause trouble for opposing defenses. He can hurt you on 50/50 balls but doesn't rely on contested catches, as he can create separation.

There is a world where if Auburn were to land Ducking, he could be used well in the red zone in 2023 with his big frame and massive catch radius.

Ducking transferred to Mississippi State from a junior college, where he showed the skill level needed to be an SEC wideout.

The tragic loss of beloved Coach Mike Leach caused a ton of coaching turnover, so these kinds of transfer portal additions make sense as State is changing from an offensive genius to a defensive-minded head coach.

We will have to wait until the portal reopens to see if Coach Freeze and company pursue Ducking, but he would definitely be a great addition to a room full of young receivers.
