If you ask some Nebraska sources, Dave Aranda, head football coach of the Baylor Bears, may not be the head coach of the Baylor Bears much longer.

After the firing of Scott Frost, fans across the midwest have created their shortlist of coaching candidates for the Cornhuskers, and many have circled Aranda as their top choice.

Moreover, media members are also catching wind of prominent Nebraska influencers who foresee Aranda to Lincoln as a move with high probability.

A source has informed Locked On Baylor that Nebraska will be throwing the kitchen sink at Aranda and expects him to be receptive.

Moreover, they expect him to be the next head coach of the Cornhuskers when all is said and done.

That leaves today's episode of Locked On Baylor to ask — when will this end? Aranda has only voiced assurance in his role at Baylor, At some point, the rumor mill has to close.

Aranda took over a program that was fresh off of an 11-3 season in 2019, but the full story is not as transparent as Baylor's record. The team was still mightily volatile and a pandemic in Aranda's first year did not help.

Since his hiring in January of 2020, Aranda has already compiled the school's first 12-win season in history, a Big 12 championship, and a Sugar Bowl victory.

Maybe even more telling, Aranda survived one of the wilder coaching carousels ever last offseason. The head Bear stayed in Waco despite openings at LSU, Notre Dame and Oklahoma.

There is no sign Aranda will jump ship at Baylor now.
