Texas Tech Defensive Players to Watch vs. Baylor in Week 9

The Baylor Bears and Texas Tech Red Raiders will continue their Big 12 bout this upcoming season on Saturday at Jones AT&T Stadium in Lubbock.
The all-time head-to-head series is neck and neck, as Baylor leads 40-39-1 dating back to 1929. The Bears beat Tech 27-24 last season in Waco.
Seven games into the first season under coach Joey McGuire, Tech is 4-3 (2-2 in Big 12) and will essentially need to win out in order to stay in contention for a Big 12 title.

LB Tyree Wilson
Wilson led the Red Raiders in sacks last season with seven, a number the 6-6, 275-pound pass-rusher is already in position to top this year. He's Tech's clear leader with six sacks this season and is second with 41 total tackles.
He'll be the clear No. 1 weapon for the Baylor offense to keep tabs on.
LB Krishon Merriweather
Merriweather leads the Red Raiders in total tackles (56) and has added 1.5 sacks this season. He had a whopping 17 total tackles in the loss to Oklahoma State and will be the focal point of the defense on Saturday.
DB Dadrion Taylor-Demerson
As the team's fourth-leading tackler (62) and leader in interceptions (three), Taylor-Demerson did it all for the Red Raiders last season. He was also one of three defensive backs to record 10 or more passes defended.
This season, he's the team's third-leading tackler (35) and is one of only four Red Raiders with an interception this season. He's also added two forced fumbles.
One of the most experienced players on the defense, Taylor-Demerson is the last of three veterans on this list that Baylor should watch for.
