Boston College completed a very successful weekend with a shutout victory over Colgate on Sunday afternoon. Riding strong games from upperclassmen David Cotton, Logan Husko and Julius Mattila, the Eagles won their second straight game to open the season, the first time they have done this since 2011-12.

In just his second game of his career, true freshman Spencer Knight showed a glimpse of why he is such a special talent. Facing off with the Colgate Warriors in the Class of 1965 Arena, Knight a first round draft pick of the Florida Panthers, recorded his first career shut out stopping all 39 shots he faced. It was the second period where Knight really stood tall, stopping 21 shots as Colgate peppered him all period.

The Eagles jumped out to an early lead in the first period when defenseman Luke McGinnis, just out of the penalty box scored on a give and go with David Cotton. In the second, amongst Colgate's heavy pressure Boston College was still able to expand on their lead as Julius Mattila grabbed his sixth point of the weekend on a beautiful feed to Logan Hutsko to make it 2-0. The Eagles sealed the win with David Cotton smashed a shot off a defender past the shoulder of Colgate goalie Mitch Benson.

Now undefeated at 2-0, BC needs to get healthy for next weekend's matchups against the number two team in the country, Denver. Logan Hutsko and David Cotton both left the game with injuries, and Jerry York's squad is going to need all the fire power they can get against a Denver squad that has started the season 4-0, and has only allowed 1.75 goals per game.

That is two good wins to start the season, and with all aspects of the team clicking, Jerry York has to feel good about the direction of his squad. BC returns to the ice on Friday against Denver
