Cal Football: Bears Pick Up Commitment from LB Andy Alfieri

Cal received its third football commitment for the class of 2020 when linebacker Andy Alfieri announced via Twitter Saturday that he will accept an offer to play for the Bears.

Alfieri is from Portland, Oregon, and attended Jesuit High School. His older brother, Joey Alfieri, recently played for Stanford.

Andy Alfieri is rated the 603rd-best prospect in the nation by 247 Sports, and the 47th-best ouside linebacker prospect.

Alfieri is a 6-foot-3, 220-pounder who played both sides of the ball in high school but is being recruited as a linebacker.

He is is listed as a three-star recruit by, and is not ranked among the top 250 recruits in the nation by that website.

Cal picked up two other 2020 commitments Saturday -- wide receiver Jeremiah Hunter and athlete Casey Filkins.
