Cal Football Video: Breakout Game for Nikko Remigio

Cal sophomore wide receiver Nikko Remigio had two of the biggest plays in Saturday's 23-17 win over North Texas. Both led to the Bears' second touchdown of the game.

First he ran back a punt 32 yards with a twisting, slithering return, giving Cal the ball at the North Texas 33-yard line. A pair of Cal penalties slowed Cal's drive, but on third-and-13 from the 36, Chase Garbers threw a pass that Remigio caught at about the 10-yard line. Remigio then reversed field to beat the lone remaining defender and score a touchdown that made it 20-0.

Remigio relives that touchdown catch in the video above.

Remigio caught two passes for 53 yards on Saturday and is second on the team in receiving yardage for the season at 99. Kekoa Crawford leads the team with seven catches for 146 yards and two touchdowns.

Remigio is averaging 18.5 yards on four punt returns this season and could be the big-play threat Cal has been searching for.

Earlier in the video he credited his offseason workouts with improving his speed and strength.
