At least for one night, Andrew Vaughn shook off a recent slump, delivering a home run, a single and scoring two runs for the Winston-Salem Dash of the Carolina League on Thursday night.

Vaughn was batting just .189 (7 for 34) over his previous 10 games for the Chicago White Sox’ Class A Advanced affiliate.

But in the fourth inning against the Lynchburg Hillcats, he lined a solo home run — his second in 20 games since being promoted from the Low-A Kannapolis Intimidators. Vaughn later singled and scored a run. He also included a walk in a 2-for-4 night as the Dash beat the Hellcats 9-4.

A two-time All-American at Cal who was drafted No. 3 overall by the White Sox, Vaughn now is batting .250 for the Dash.
