Former Clemson baseball player Andrew Cox has been named as an assistant coach at Western Carolina. Cox joined the Catamounts program over the summer after spending the last two seasons at Furman. The Paladins announced recently that they were dropping their baseball program.

"The Catamounts made an incredible hire," Clemson head coach Monte Lee said on Twitter. "So happy for Coach Moranda and his program! Rudy is an awesome person who makes everyone around him better."

Cox was at Clemson for five years, from 2007-2012. He played for Hall of Fame coach Jack Leggett and Lee during his career. He appeared in 186 games for the Tigers, hitting .280 with 6 homeruns and 35 RBI.
