247 ranks Tua-Jeudy over Lawrence-Ross in Top QB-WR rankings

.2. TREVOR LAWRENCE-JUSTYN ROSS (CLEMSON)

True freshmen Trevor Lawrence and Justyn Ross both lived up to their 247Sports Composite rankings last season. Lawrence was the No. 1 overall player in the class of 2018, and the quarterback quickly took over the starting role from incumbent Kelly Bryant, who is now at Missouri after transferring. Lawrence became just the second true freshman starting quarterback to lead his team to a national championship. Ross, the class of 2018's No. 1 player in Alabama, was also a major key to Clemson's 15-0 season. After totaling just one game over 100 yards receiving during the team's first 13 games, Ross caught 12 passes for 301 yards and three touchdowns during the College Football Playoff. Rising junior Tee Higgins (12 touchdowns) actually led the Tigers in receiving until Ross' outburst in the playoff, but we should expect Ross to have big games throughout the entire season in 2019.

.1. TUA TAGOVAILOA-JERRY JEUDY (ALABAMA)

Tua Tagovailoa and Jerry Jeudy may be the scariest returning quarterback-wide receiver duo in the country. Tagovailoa was the 2018 Heisman Trophy runner-up, while Jeudy won the Biletnikoff Award (nation's best wide receiver). The combination of Jeudy's elite speed and route running make him an easy target for a quarterback with Tagovailoa's accuracy. That was on display for much of the 2019 season, as Jeudy finished with 14 touchdowns and 1,315 yards on 68 catches. The junior is a threat to score every time he touches the ball, and that puts tremendous pressure on defensive backs.
