Scottie Young Jr. enters the portal

Chase Howell

Young was a three-year starting safety at Arizona, starting 29 games in total. He was a three-star recruit coming out of La Mesa High School in California. He had 53 tackles his freshman season and an interception. He had 38 tackles his sophomore season with three interceptions. Last season, he had 66 tackles and just one interception.

His defensive backs coach at Arizona is CU's new cornerbacks coach Demetrice Martin.

If the Buffaloes don't use their last remaining spot for a scholarship incomer on a quarterback, safety is another position were they are razor-thin and could definitely use a three-year Pac-12 starter.
