Gators WR Jacob Copeland earns SEC Freshman of the Week honors
The redshirt freshman tallied three receptions on four targets, going for 89 yards and one touchdown against the South Carolina Gamecocks this past Saturday. The score marked Copeland's second career trip to the endzone, and his first against an SEC foe.
Pro Football Focus credits Copeland for generating 37 yards after the catch, leading the team by a drastic amount - the next closest was Trevon Grimes, with 10.
Copeland has begun to emerge in Florida's offense as yet another receiving threat. It's been tough for Copeland to crack the rotation, given injuries during his true freshman season and a deep Florida receiving corps around him.
But given his six targets over the past two games - with another three against the LSU Tigers in Death Valley - it appears Copeland's stock is on an upward trend towards becoming consistent.
