Ahmari Harvey (5’10, 171) is a class of 2021 defensive back prospect from Florida State University High School in Tallahassee, FL. Most ‘Nole fans are familiar with the local product and have been following his recruitment from the beginning. Harvey took to his Twitter today to finally announce his top five schools.

At times, Harvey’s interest in Florida State has been a bit of a roller coaster but Mike Norvell and staff have established a good relationship with since arriving in Tallahassee. FSU will have to compete with Auburn, Texas A&M, LSU, and in-state rival, Florida.

Auburn has shown up the most as the other favorite to land the services of Harvey but Dan Mullen and the Gators have also made a strong case. Former FSU coach Jimbo Fisher seems to be on the outside looking in out in College Station and the defending national champions, LSU have entered the race as of late.

A few months back when asked what his dream school is, Harvey had a very clear answer. This has the potential to play out well for the ‘Noles as Harvey is a highly thought of prospect that would be a huge addition to Norvell’s second recruiting class and first full cycle.

Harvey would bring a physical presence that has been lacking in Tallahassee for a few seasons now. He also has great footwork and is very solid in coverage. His ball skills are top notch and could help flip them turnover deficiency around that has plagued the defensive side of the ball. Harvey made the recently released SI Top 1,000 and is one of several Florida State targets under consideration for Sports Illustrated All-American status-- check out his player profile here

This staff still has more work to do and securing his services may come down to the wire but FSU is in good standing heading into Harvey’s senior season.
