After a short surge with the Atlanta Legends of the AAF, it looks like one of Georgia's greatest quarterbacks of all-time will get another chance.

Aaron Murray has been assigned to his hometown team, the Tampa Bay Vipers of the XFL, ahead of the league's inaugural draft.

After being drafted in the 5th round of the 2014 NFL Draft, Murray spent four years as a backup for the Kansas City Chiefs, Arizona Cardinals, Philadelphia Eagles, and Los Angeles Rams.

Murray also had some success with the Atlanta Legends. In his first game played for the Legends, he completed 20 of 33 passes for 254 yards and rushed for 54 yards as well. That also resulted in the first win for the Legends.

Seven other quarterbacks have also been assigned to XFL teams, which features guys like Cardale Jones and Jordan Ta'amu. This gives these guys another "tryout" for NFL GMs across the league.

In the upcoming draft, each of the eight XFL teams will add 71 players to their teams. However, 52 players will make the final roster, but only 46 guys will be active for games.

The players will be paid a base salary of $2,080 every two weeks with a $1,685 bonus for being on the active roster for a game. Players will also receive a $2,222 bonus for ever team win.

It's also expected that the quarterbacks will have a larger salary moving forward.

The inaugural season of the XFL is planned for the spring of 2020.
