Today's Damn Good Dawg, Lindsay Scott

Today's Damn Good Dawg is Lindsay Scott. Lindsay is most known for his glorious play against Florida to save the 1980 season and inevitably the National Championship.

Oh, you can't talk about Lindsay Scott without remembering that historic 92-yard touchdown against those stinking Gators in 1980. That touchdown on 3rd down from UGA's own 8-yard line put the Dawgs on Top (26-21).

As was the case 99.9% of the time with Georgia football games from 1966 to 2008 with Larry Munson on the call, the play was incredible but somehow the call is so much better.

Couple of things to make sure to listen for:

- “RUN LINDSAY”: Most broadcasters on long plays break out into the “Now he's at the 40, the 30…” But not Larry. Larry gave you that plus his undeniable fandom. In the middle of the call, he tells Lindsay to run! It’s small, it’s nuanced, it’s perfection.

- “I broke my chair”: Amidst the pandemonium, Munson broke his steel framed chair stating “The booth came apart along with the stadium”

- “There’s gonna be some destroyed property.”: After reminding the audience that the rivalry game between UGA and the Gators was formally known as “the world’s largest outdoor cocktail party,” he says the Dawgs fans that made the trip will surely be partying hard.

Lindsay Scott

In four seasons at The University of Georgia Lindsay Scott played in all 44 games, amassing 131 receptions for 2,098 yards and 10 Touchdowns.

NONE more important than the incredible catch and run against Florida.
