Sedrick Van Pran is rated as the #3 Center in the nation. Van Pran, from New Orleans, Louisiana, recently cut down his list to eight final teams. Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, Missouri, Alabama, LSU, Texas A&M, and Oklahoma.

As you can tell by his final list, Van Pran is very keen on the idea of playing in the SEC. Seven of his final eight schools reside in the SEC, with Oklahoma being the only other school.

Van Pran said, "The SEC is like the big dogs of the big dogs. For linemen, that's the ideal place." Van Pran also included, "The SEC has a ton of great offensive line coaches so that definitely sticks out to me."

Each school is recruiting him hard, but he feels that Georgia, Oklahoma, Alabama, and Texas A&M are coming at him the hardest. His best visits have come at Georgia and Oklahoma.

While he says there is some pressure to choosing the in-state LSU Tigers, he and his family are open to him going out of state.

"There's always pressure to stay home." Van Pran added on, "My mom and my dad have given me their take on everything, and they said that at the end of the day, I have to do what's best for me."

Van Pran primarily plays Center, but UGA Offensive Line Coach, Sam Pittman, has proposed the idea of playing any spot on the offensive line.

"With me, he was like I could play center or guard. However, he wants me to be able to play tackle too," he said. "He thinks that I could play tackle. (Pittman said) at the end of the day, all five spots are open for me. If I can play it, he's going to put me there."

Coach Pittman has also made Van Pran and Ogunbiyi feel prioritized on the offensive line.

"Coach Pittman straight up told me, as far as interior linemen, you and Aki are the two people I need.

UGA commit, Akinola Ogunbiyi, has done his part to bring Sedrick Van Pran with him to play at Georgia.

"Me and Aki talk once every two or three days."

When they're not playing a video game, Akinola generally starts up with his "come be a Dawg" pitch.

"He's one of the coolest dudes I've ever met," said Van Pran. "The way that we click, it's actually really genuine because, at the end of the day, we both have the same goals." Van Pran can definitely see himself playing alongside Akinola Ogunbiyi at Georgia. "I'm not going to lie, it would be really nice to play with him. Aki may be able to influence me a little bit."

The top eight list will probably his last public list, but he still might cut it privately before committing.

"I probably won't do that publicly. I don't want it to seem like I'm seeking attention."

Van Pran has already taken an official visit to Oklahoma. Georgia will definitely be a big candidate to get an official visit down the road.

"I did not choose who will get my official visits, but the rest of the four teams will be out of my top eight," said Van Pran.

He will commit at the Under Armour All-American game in January, and you can expect Georgia to be a huge contender to get his services. Whichever school he decides to go to will get an elite, versatile, and class-act player on the offensive line.
