BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — It's Gameday at Memorial Stadium, and the early-morning tailgaters for the Noon ET game were greeting with some chilly weather in the 30s. Summer is definitely over.

The forecast for kickoff is sunny skies and temperatures in the low 50s, which is perfect of football, but it's definitely been a change of pace for the Hoosiers. Their first three homes games were all played in temperatures at 80 degrees or better.

It was flat-out cold this morning. Indiana quarterback Michael Penix Jr, a Tampa, Florida kid, was seen warming up with a knit stocking cap.

The game is being televised by Big Ten Network, and it's sometimes hard to find the game on your cable or satellite system when it's the back-up game. Here's the BTN Gamefinder link:

The players were even bundled up when they did "The Walk'' into Memorial Stadium at 9:45 a.m.

Indiana is wearing new uniforms today to honor the school's bicentennial. There are several IU-specific tweaks to the uniforms. Indiana got a nice shoutout on SportsCenter Saturday morning on ESPN. Here's the full rundown on the look:

News of note

Gest to transfer: According to several outlets, Indiana running back Cole Gest is transferring. He entered the NCAA's transfer portal last week. Indiana's crowded running back room got the best of him. Stevie Scott, who rushed for 1,137 yards last year as a true freshman, was always the established starter, but Gest got passed up in the pecking order by Ronnie Walker Jr. and freshman Sampson James.

Gest had only four carrries for 12 yards in four games this season, He tore an ACL in the first game a year ago and was lost for the season, which was disappointing because he started that first game and was expected to be a key contributor. He rushed for 428 yards in 2017.
