Christian Jones began his relationship with Iowa Football more than a year ago. The Omaha (NE) Westside High four-star linebacker visited the Hawkeyes last April

The bond between player and program has grown since then. So, too, has Jones' stock.

Jones (6-3, 215) reported receiving a scholarship offer from Iowa Friday evening. The Class of 2025 standout added it to reported opportunities from Boston College, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Michigan State, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, USC and Wisconsin.

"How I feel about Iowa is I know it’s a good program that produces good players that go to the league," he told HN.

Hawkeye assistant LeVar Woods delivered the news of the offer to Jones. Woods has built good relationships while recruiting Western Iowa and Nebraska for the program. He's been working hard on Jones' prep teammate, '24 Athlete Caleb Benning.

"I’ve been in contact with coach Woods now and then when he comes by recruiting. We have had a relationship since my freshman year. Me and coach Woods's relationship is good. We know each other well," Jones said.

The Hawkeyes would like to get Jones back on campus sometime this summer or fall. He thinks it probably will happen.

"I will more than likely visit them again, but I'm not sure when," he said.

Rivals and 247Sports rank Jones as a four-star recruit, while On3 shows him as a three-star. All of the services see him as the No. 1 player overall in Nebraska for '25.

Jones helped Westside win a state title in '22, when he posted 60.0 tackles (41 solo, 5.0 for loss), two forced fumbles, two recovered fumbles, three pass breakups and an interception.  He also caught six passes for 43 yards with a touchdown.
