Dycin Davis has the name. And at 15, he already has game.

The Class of 2026 Abilene (TX) Cooper edge reports scholarship offers from Iowa, Baylor, Texas Tech and North Texas. The Hawkeyes delivered their opportunity on May 9.

"I found out Iowa was interested in me through my high school coaches," the freshman told HN. "My coaches are an amazing group of men, and they kept me in the loop of what was going on.

"My coaches informed me Iowa felt like I was a great fit due to my academics, the ability to maintain a high grade-point average and be a student-athlete."

The 6-foot-3, 206-pound 15-year-old shows explosion off the edge in his freshman highlights. He's strong, especially for his age, and gets off blocks with power and an advanced array of moves.

"I'm quick on my feet. My hands are good when getting the block off of me. I know the game and am also eager to grow in the game. I'm passionate when I'm on the field. I leave it all out there, always," he said.

Davis wants to visit Iowa. He'd like to learn more about the school and program.

"There are so many things I would like to find out about Iowa. Iowa is great, and I love that they're part of the Big Ten Conference," he said.

With three years of high school remaining, time is on Davis' side in searching for a college. That includes campus visits down the road.

"I'm looking forward to any options that are opened to me when the time comes," he said.

He's also thinking about a major. That's a big part of the process.

"I don't really know what I want to study yet in college, so right now I'm just grateful for any options out there for me. All of this is exciting and feels like a dream at times," he said.

None of the major recruiting sites ranked Davis at the time of publishing.
