MADISON, Wis. — Tyrone Tracy kept his eyes on the big screen.

Of course, at the time he was on his way to what could have been the game-tying touchdown.

Tracy’s 75-yard catch-and-run of a Nate Stanley pass gave Iowa a chance to tie the game, but Stanley was stopped short on a two-point conversion and Wisconsin escaped with a 24-22 win on Saturday at Camp Randall Stadium.

Tracy broke free on the catch over the middle, then looked up at the giant video board at the north end of the stadium.

“Nate threw a good ball, I caught it,” Tracy said. “I was trying to be electric. That’s what I hold myself to on the field.

“I looked on the big screen, and saw there was nothing right there in front of me. So I ran as fast as I could.”

“We called that play thinking we would get man coverage,” Stanley said. “Tyrone did a good job of running the route, and obviously finishing it.”

The play, with 3 minutes, 12 seconds to play, was part of a furious comeback for the Hawkeyes, who scored 16 points in the fourth quarter.

It was the longest play of the season for the Hawkeyes. The reception was also the longest in Tracy's career, and tied for the longest pass in Stanley's career.

Tracy finished with five catches for 130 yards, both career highs. It is his first career 100-yard receiving game, and the most receiving yards by a Hawkeye since Jake Duzey had six catches for 138 yards against Ohio State in 2013. It is the most receiving yards by a Hawkeye wide receiver since Marvin McNutt had eight catches􏰁 for 130 yards against Michigan State in 2011.
