Kansas State's best players from junior colleges

So far I have counted down the best K-State football players from the states of Texas, Georgia, Oklahoma, Missouri and Kansas. This time I will count down the best players who came from jucos.

#20 DJ Reed 2016-2017 CB Cerritos College 2 time first team all Big 12 (2016 as a DB, 2017 as a returner). 2nd team All American in 2017 (Walter Camp & PFF). Drafted in 5th round of the 2018 NFL draft.

#19 Brandon Banks 2008-2009 WR Bakersfield College 3rd team All American as a kick returner (sporting news) in 2009. Big 12 offensive newcomer of the year in 2008. Big 12 special teams player of the year in 2009. 2nd team all Big 12 as a WR in 2009.

#18 Tank Reese 2001-2002 DT Hutchinson Community College Starting DT on nation's #1 scoring defense in 2002. Big 12 Defensive Newcomer of the Year in 2001. 1st team all Big 12 in 2002.

#17 Ryan Lilja 2002-2003 OL Coffeyville Community College Starter on the 2003 Big 12 Championship team. Helped pave way for record setting rusher Darren Sproles.

#16 Rock Cartwright 2000-2001 FB Trinity Valley Community College Lead blocker for Josh Scobey who set a K-State record for rushing yards in 2001. Honorable mention all big 12 in 2001. Most total yards by a fullback in the Bill Snyder era. Drafted in the 7th round of the 2002 NFL draft.

#15 Ron Yankowski 1969-1970 DE/DT NEO A&M 1st team all Big 8 in 1970. Dafted in the 8th round of the 1971 NFL draft (199th overall)

#14 Mack Herron 1968-1969 RB Hutchinson Community College  1220 yards from scrimmage & 21 TDs in 1969, led nation in scoring. 1st team all Big 8 in 1969. Drafted in the 6th round of the 1970 NFL draft.

#13 Jake Waters 2013-2014 QB Iowa Western Community College 2nd team all Big 12 in 2014. Broke school's career records for completion %, passing efficiency, total offensive yards per game. Finished 2nd in school history in career TDs. 

#12 Nigel Malone 2011-2012 CB City College of San Francisco 3rd team All American in 2011. 1st team all Big 12 in 2011, 2nd team all Big 12 in 2002. 4th most career INTs at Kansas State (12).

#11 James Terry 2002-2003 WR Butler County Community College  3rd team All American (College football news) in 2003. 2nd team all Big 12 in 2003. set record for most receiving yards in a season (now 4th).  

#10 Darnell McDonald 1997-1998 WR Garden City Community College Holds records for most yards and TDs in the Fiesta Bowl with 209 and 3, 3rd team All American in 1998. Broke record for most receiving yards in a season at K-State (now 6th all time).

#9 Josh Scobey 2000-2001 RB NEO A&M 2nd team all Big 12 in 2001. Set record for most rushing yards in a season at K-State (now 7th). Also set record for career rushing TDs (now 4th). Drafted in the 6th round of the 2002 NFL draft.

#8 Meshak Williams 2011-2012 DE Hutchinson Community College  2012 defensive lineman of the year. 1st team all Big 12 in 2012. 8th most sacks in a season at K-State (10.5). Tied for 9th most sacks in K-State history with 16.5.

#7 Mo Latimore 1970-1971 G Hutchinson Community College  3rd team All American by the UPI. 1st team all Big 8 in 1971. Drafted in the 7th round of the 1972 NFL draft.

#6 Quincy Morgan 1999-2000 WR Blinn Community College  1st team All American by The Football News in 2000. 1st team all Big 12 1999 & 2000. Ranks 6th in K-State history for receiving yards and 3rd in receiving TDs. Drafted in the 2nd round of the 2002 NFL draft.

#5 Daniel Thomas 2009-2010 RB North West Mississippi Community College  2nd team all Big 12 by Rivals.com in 2010. 1st team all Big 12 2009 & 2010. Big 12 Offensive Newcomer of the year in 2009. Finished his K-State career as the #2 all time rusher (now 3rd). Drafted in the 3rd round of the 2011 NFL draft.

#4 Mario Fatafehi 1999-2000 DT Snow College  2nd team All American in 2000. 1st team all Big 12 in 2000, 2nd team all Big 12 in 1999. Big 12 Defensive Newcomer of the year in 1999. Had 80 tackles and 8.5 sacks his Senior year. Drafted in the 5th round of the 2001 NFL draft.

#3 Reggie Singletary 1981-1983 DT Cowley County Community College  1st team all Big 8 3 straight times (1981, 1982, 1983). Owns K-State records for most tackles for loss in a season and a career (28 & 60). 2nd most forced fumbles in a career (8). Collected 281 tackles in 3 years at K-State.

#2 Jeff Kelly 1997-1998 LB Garden City Community College  1st team All American in 1998. 1st team All Big 12 in 1997 & 1998. Big 12 Defensive Newcomer of the year in 1997. Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year in 1998. 3rd most tackles for loss in a season at K-State & most by a linebacker (28). Drafted in the 6th round of the 1999 NFL draft.

#1 Michael Bishop 1997-1998 QB Blinn Community College  1st team All American by Football News & Sporting News in 1998. Davey O'Brien award winner in 1998. 1st team all Big 12 in 1998, 2nd team all Big 12 in 1997. Big 12 Offensive Newcomer of the year in 1997. Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year in 1998. Drafted in the 7th round of the 1999 NFL draft.

I might shift a few things around, mostly Waters. He feels like a top 10 guy to me. I know I was guilty of it, but I'm not sure we as fans appreciated him as much as he deserved while he was here. That guy was legitimately a great K-State QB.
