Meet your 2019 recruit: Jacardia Wright, Athlete, Illinois

Jacardia Wright was a high school running back who was recruited to Kansas State as an Athlete, and will try to carve our a role in Manhattan.

A main priority for Kansas State this recruiting cycle was filling the stable with young, gifted athletes who could infuse the program with talent around the field. 

Incoming freshman Jacardia Wright from St. Theresa High School in Decatur, Illinois certainly fits the bill. 

Wright, a high school track star, won four gold medals at the Illinois state track meet this Spring, will put that speed to good use as a weapon in head coach Chris Klieman's offense or as a defensive back intent on stopping the high flying offenses of the Big 12. 

Wright weighed offers from big time Power 5 schools in Minnesota, Michigan State, and Iowa before committing to Klieman's Wildcats in April. The decision was clearly a tough one, as he waited until very late to finally make a commitment. 

Listed a 6'0", 200lbs, Wright has great size to play Safety or Slot Receiver for the Wildcats this Fall and in the future. 

A high school star, Wright joins the Wildcats in hopes of continuing on as a running back, who may find the field as a slot receiver from time to time. Inversely, he may also find himself playing safety for the Wildcats.
