Meet your 2019 Recruit: Jax Dineen, Running Back, Kansas

Jax Dineen is a power fullback from Lawrence Free State HS (KS) who was the 3rd ranked FB prospect in the country in the 2019 recruiting cycle.

Kansas State coaches went in to the heart of Jayhawk country and snagged a couple of commitments from in-state rival Kansas and new head coach Les Miles, and Jax Dineen is one of the byproducts of that effort.

But it wasn't just Kansas in the running for the backer. In addition to the cross-state foes, Dineen received offers from the Air Force Academy, Army and a slew of non-Power 5 schools, and was also in for an unofficial visit at Clemson.

The bruising 5'11, 230lb running back was recruited as a fullback; and 247Sports ranked him as the #3 fullback prospect in the country.

Dineen ultimately settled on Kansas State after head coach Chris Klieman was officially hired. The first year Wildcat coach was also recruiting Dineen while still at North Dakota State.

Dineen has incredible center of gravity and a powerful step that gives him a downhill running style that is impossible to arm tackle and difficult to bring down.

He'll transition from the halfback position he played while at Free State and develop in to a more traditional full back, and lead blocker role. However, with good hands and 4.7/40 speed, he won't be relegated to just blocking in Manhattan.

Dineen is one of a long line of new running backs coming to Manhattan this Fall and in the 2020 class - and there is sure to be stiff competition for plays.
