Injuries were added to insult.

Louisville football lost to Miami 52-27 in its worst performance of the season Nov. 9 and had a slew of injuries as well.

Mekhi Becton, Louisville’s starting left tackle, was injured in the first quarter against Miami and did not return. The junior’s ankle injury might have been the biggest loss Saturday. With a 6-foot-7, 369-pound frame, Becton is a three-year starter and has a bevy of NFL potential.

“Mekhi is getting better, he is listed as day-to-day and we’ll see how he is this week,” Satterfield said. “If he is available to play, we want to play him. We’ll see where he’s at in the middle and at the end of the week.”

Tutu Atwell was injured in the second half against Miami, but Satterfield said the wide receiver will be good to go against NC State Nov. 16.

Dorian Jones was injured on a kickoff in the first quarter. Satterfield said the freshman linebacker will be out.

“He got an MRI, but we have not gotten the results back from that yet, so he’ll be out this week and then we will see,” Satterfield said. “We’re hoping for the best, but it doesn’t look good right now.”

Micale Cunningham departed late in the third quarter after slipping on a third-down play and was hit while on the ground. The quarterback practiced Sunday night and Satterfield said he will be fine.

Safety Khane Pass should return to practice in the middle of the week.

“Khane got bruised up pretty good, but I think he’ll be ready to go,” Satterfield said. “He did get a few dings in that game.”
