Five-Star Forward Justice Carlton Includes LSU in Final Five Schools

The reigning National Champions continue hitting the recruiting trail with force.

Kim Mulkey and Co. haven’t stopped recruiting ever since LSU took home their first National Championship in April. From transfers to traveling around to AAU tournaments, this coaching staff continues reeling in the best of the best to Baton Rouge.

On Saturday, their chances at bringing in another top prospect became that much greater after Justice Carlton, the No. 4 overall player in the 2024 class, included LSU in her final five schools.

Carlton has received over 20 offers during her high school career, and after narrowing her list to LSU, UCONN, South Carolina, Arizona and Texas, the Tigers are set to put their foot on the gas for the dynamic forward.

The 6-foot-2 talent, and Texas native, has been a hot name on the market over the last year and a half as programs battle for her services. With the defending champion LSU Tigers now heavily in the mix, getting Carlton down to campus will be of the utmost importance.

Carlton is fresh off of averaging 22.3 points, 9.3 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 2.2 steals, and 2.0 blocks for Seven Lakes High School in Katy, Tex. as a junior. After a dominant run, she was named the 9-6A Offensive Player of the Year.

LSU has had nonstop success on the recruiting trail. The NCAA Transfer Portal run this offseason has been monstrous, but as this program looks to lock in future stars, it starts with the high school ranks.

Mulkey’s staff reeled in the No. 1 2023 class that will arrive on campus this summer, but now it’s all about getting the dominos to fall in the 2024 cycle with Carlton potentially being a major piece to what this program is building.
