Notes from Locksley's presser

• Maryland put pads on for the first time on Wednesday. Able to get into the thudding, blocking for the first time “since November a year ago”
• Players & coaches now in daily testing regiment per Big Ten protocol
• Locks highlights the JuCo signees to come in to plug away at the DL, highlights Amelio Moran & Johari Branch “that I thought did a really good job assimilating and buying into the culture we’ve created.” Also spoke highly of Evan Gregory.
• Marcus Minor has moved from right tackle to right guard while Locksley highlights Johnny Jordan’s return. Also highlights Jaelyn Duncan, Spencer Anderson, a healthy TJ Bradley “gives us a little more depth than we had.”
• A lot of time to do the mental piece through Zoom meetings, now it’s the physical aspect of it. “Moving into the pads allows us to develop our team from that point of view.”
• Not even thinking about making a decision or close to making a decision at QB with the team still in the install period. Calling Taulia “as good as advertised” while also crediting Lance.
• Locksley also highlighted being featured as a weekly guest on NBC Sports Washington’s pregame show. “Gives us the exposure about the relationships that Maryland has with the program.”
