Top Cornerback Target Puts Michigan In Top Five

Michigan is still in the mix for its top cornerback target in the 2024 cycle.

Michigan is obviously doing a great job on the recruiting in the 2024 class and it has a chance to get a lot better if Michigan can beat out Ohio State for Springfield (Ohio) High cornerback Aaron Scott.

The 6-0, 170-pounder recently dropped his top five and Michigan is in the mix.

The Wolverines will now battle Penn State, Tennessee, Oregon and the presumed favorite, Ohio State for Scott's services. This recruiting battle is another one that would go down as a major, major win for the Wolverines if they can land the talented coverman out of The Buckeye State. In season's past, Michigan flat out did not land kids like Scott. Prospects from the state of Ohio, that OSU really wanted, ended up in Columbus. Period. But now, after two seasons of the tables being turned and Michigan flat out dominating the Buckeyes, Ohio kids are starting to look at U-M in a much more serious way. Look no further than current Wolverine running back commit Jordan Marshall, who OSU wanted badly.

Scott is a coveted prospect with more than 30 offers but this really feels like a two-horse race between Michigan and Ohio State. Oregon is also a team to watch as Scott's childhood favorite team. Now, it'll come down to visits. He will officially visit Michigan in two weeks and will visit Ohio State the week after that. It's going to be really interesting to see how this plays out because in the past, this was a layup for Ohio State, but after the last two seasons, it's at least a contested jumpshot.
