A Letter for Shannon Brown

A Letter for Shannon Brown

By: Matt Benjamin

Dear Shannon; We Will Miss You.

Â
We are so sad to see that you are officially leaving Michigan State. It has been an honor to watch you grow up the last three years wearing the green and white. You always wore the colors proudly. And you always made this university proud.Â
Â
You were a gamer. Everyday on the court you came to play, and off the court you were businesslike and professional. You never did anything that embarrassed yourself, your family or the university.Â
Â
We will miss that.
Â
You showed the Izzone your swagger. Every home game you came ready to play. Ready to make the play that would turn the momentum in favor of Sparty. Whether it was one of your superhero like dunks, or your villain like defense, you always put the Breslin Center in party mode.Â
Â
We will miss that.
Â
The students of East Lansing loved having the chance to see you walking about campus. To them you were a superstar, and it was always a treat to run into one of your favorite athletes while on your way to one of your most dreaded classes. The students of East Lansing adored you, and you responding respectfully.
Â
We will miss that.
Â
In the coming weeks you will find out where your new home will be and we know that you will embrace it the same way you did East Lansing. We wish you the best and hope you continue to find success on and off the court. And hopefully next season we will get to see your new highlight reel on ESPN’s NBA Shootaround or better yet, we will get all your highlights from Hondo's Highlights. Maybe mix in some old Spartan moves, just for fun?
Â
Love,
The Spartan Nation
