College GameDay Returns to East Lansing to Cover Tom Izzo and the Spartans
The Michigan State menâ€™s basketball team will make two appearances on ESPNâ€™s College GameDay this year. The Spartans will play at Purdue on Jan. 22, and host Illinois on Feb. 19. Both games will tip at 9 p.m.
Michigan State is the only school in the nation to make two appearances this season. This will mark GameDayâ€™s second trip to East Lansing , as MSU previously hosted from Breslin Center on Feb. 24, 2007, with MSU defeating Indiana , 66-58. Overall, this year will mark the Spartansâ€™ fifth and sixth appearances on GameDay, which ties for the most in the nation and leads all Big Ten schools.
This season, ESPNâ€™s College GameDay will expand to bring an extra hour of analysis, news and features. ESPNU will air the new first hour of GameDay from 10-11 a.m., and ESPN will continue to televise the show from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. with a separate a one-hour edition at 8 p.m. College GameDay will feature show host Rece Davis with returning analysts Jay Bilas, Digger Phelps, Hubert Davis and Bob Knight.
