Tom Izzo & Michigan State Basketball Signs Four To National Letters of Intent

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State men’s basketball head coach Tom Izzo announced Wednesday that four players have signed National Letters of Intent to attend Michigan State next fall and play for the 2011-12 Spartan basketball team. The signees include Dwaun Anderson (G, 6-3, 195, Suttons Bay, Mich., Suttons Bay H.S.), Branden Dawson (F, 6-6, 205, Gary, Ind., Lew Wallace H.S.), Brandan Kearney (F, 6-6, 182, Detroit, Mich., Southeastern H.S.) and Travis Trice (G, 6-0, 168, Huber Heights, Ohio, Wayne H.S.).

Dwaun Anderson (G, 6-3, 195, Suttons Bay, Mich., Suttons Bay H.S.) – 2010 Class C All-State Selection as chosen by the Detroit Free Press … Averaged 20 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 blocks as a junior for Coach Todd Hursey at Suttons Bay High School … Led Suttons Bay to a 25-2 mark and a spot in the 2010 Class C state title game … Totaled 16 points, 12 rebounds, five blocks and three steals in the title game … Also earned All-Northwest Conference and All-Area Dream Team honors as a junior … Ranked the No. 89 player and the No. 23 shooting guard in the nation by Rivals.com … 2009 Class C All-State Selection as chosen by the Detroit Free Press … Averaged 19.7 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4 assists as a sophomore … 2009 All-Northwest Conference and All-Area First Team selection … Averaged 14.5 points, 2 assists and 1.5 rebounds as a freshman.
