The Spartans came in with head coach Tom Izzo not wanting to use the “must win” language. Like it or not it was and the Spartans dominated the Hawkeyes from the start.

The Spartans shot 65% in the first half and 58% for the game and they won every detail of the game. Led by Neitzel’s 17, the most impressive stat for the MSU guard however was that he only played 24 minutes.

The Spartans had their way with the Hawks and the real highlight was the crowd. For sure it was a top 5 all time crowd for the Breslin. Not only was the Izzone outstanding but also the “green seats” that are perennially terrible even rocked.

Now all the attention turns to a big game this upcoming week with the Badgers of Wisconsin. Make no mistake they are very good, but don’t forget that there is bad blood here. They don’t like MSU and MSU has no love for them. If the crowd is as good as it was tonight and the Spartans have the same intensity, I think we can see a big upset here against the Badgers.
