Ally Crawford is talking Tigers baseball and Justin Verlander!

By Allison Crawford

I’ve been watching baseball for quite a few years now and I rarely see a starting pitcher take the mound in the 9th inning. Well, I saw it last night when the Tigers played Kansas City. Not only did the Tigers’ Justin Verlander take the mound in the 9th, he threw 99 m.p.h. in the 9th. That is the same speed he was throwing when he took the mound at the beginning of the game. Is that normal? I couldn’t believe what I was seeing when he pitched in the 9th inning. Not only did Verlander pitch unbelievably well, but he also got his first shutout of the season! I had the opportunity of watching Verlander pitch last week when the Tigers hosted the Twins. Can I just say wow! He takes the mound every inning with confidence and pitches each pitch like its his last. You can tell by watching him that he has a great passion for pitching and the game of baseball. Verlander has so many great years to come in his baseball career. I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait to see what Verlander and the Tigers are going to do this season.
