If you had to guess what is wrong with the Lions? I also love that your show is here now.
Paula-Grand Rapids

Hi Paula!
Thanks for your kind words. The Lions first of all are much improved on the offensive line even with a multitude of injuries. In the NFL injuries is never and excuse because everyone has them but the Lions have been decimated. I really have no offensive worries, with health they will only get better. As far as defensively I would say that Sarge’s whole philosophy is built on the lines and I agree with him. The Lions DE’s have been terrible and Shaun Rogers outside of the Seattle game has been bad also. I think the LB crew is pretty solid like the O-line but has also got more then it’s share of injuries. Again with health I don’t think that is a bad crew. I would say that if Fernando could stay healthy I think he could be a good CB but he can’t stay healthy. Anyways, this team is not far from being something, they are going to have to get a big time free agent DE that will be need #1. I would also say that I think the D backfield has been horrible, but the D line can’t get a pass rush. This team is not as far, it just has to get better at the D line and it has to get better in the D backfield. Both of those can be addressed in the off-season.

I read that Ford Jr. wants Millen out, any truth to that. I read it on a website and I wondered what you thought.
Jason-Battle Creek
Â
Hi Jason.
I know a lot more then I can say. With that I can tell you that Millen is safe for now and I can tell you that he and his team are committed to winning.

I read in a paper here that Millen needs to go get a personnel guy from Pittsburgh. What do you think?
Pete-Northville
Â
Hi Pete.
I am also aware of that article and I also know where that info came from. That said with the staff that is in place with the Lions, I think they can asses any needs they may have better then a media member.

What do you think of Kitna? I saw your interview with him and loved it but Sunday was bad.Â
Chris-Ann Arbor
Â
Hello Chris and you should be thankful I even would respond to an email from Ann Arbor. J Anyways my friend Jon is a very good QB. Was he pressing on Sunday? No doubt but remember he had no offensive line and had no running game! Jon is fine and he is the best QB we have had in Detroit since Landry. I am telling you that when the O line gets healthy they will be among the best.

I heard you say you didn’t go to Minneapolis. I thought you went to them all, what happened?
Bill-Kalamazoo
Â
Hi Bill
Circumstances arose that would not allow me to go and take care of the show. I won’t miss again and I am sorry. It killed me not to be there.

I read in a Detroit paper that the defensive line isn’t talking, especially Baby and James Hall. What is up with that?

Neil-Portage

Â
Hi Neil!
That is a touchy subject with me. I for one think that James Hall owes it to his teammates to man up and address the media. He was elected a captain and has decided essentially in my opinion to leave the hard stuff to them. As far as Shaun Rogers, you hear all the talk about him being among the best, yet he wasn’t voted a captain and he sits and laughs and jokes after losses. I for one am sick of his shtick and think he may have a good idea because I wouldn’t want to be asked about being lazy and inconsistent. Daunte Curry who I love as a player, said to me in after the Packers loss “I am sick of watching people who don’t take losing as bad as me.” I love that attitude. In fairness that was not a quote about Shaun (at least he didn’t say it was) but I did ask it after watching Shaun play around. This team is going through a metamorphosis and that is o.k. and it is healthy. It is what happened in Tampa and they are going through a ‘weeding out” process of the good and the bad.

Thanks for being so positive on the Lions. I really like that your fair but you come from a positive slant. I love the Lions and even being 0-5 you have me so hopeful. I love hearing you on the radio also, so keep it up.

Thanks everyone, keep your chins up. I think this week may be the week for win 1 of many in the Sarge regime. Go Lions!
