DeHaan Collects Double-Double In USA’s 85-66 Win Over Czech Republic in World Championship Quarterfinals

Allyssa DeHaan scores 12 points and has 11 rebounds as USA advances to World Championship semifinals.
BRATISLAVA, Slovakia - Michigan State sophomore center Allyssa DeHaan registered a double-double, scoring 12 points and grabbing 11 rebounds, as the USA Women’s U19 Team defeated the Czech Republic, 85-66, in the World Championship quarterfinals on Friday. DeHaan led all players in the game with her 11 rebounds in addition to her five blocks. DeHaan’s previous scoring high in the tournament came against South Korea, when she scored seven points. The Grandville, Mich., native scored her 12 points on 4-of-8 shooting from the field while going 4-for-4 from the free-throw line.
With the win, the USA advances to the semifinals with a perfect 7-0 record to take on Spain Saturday, Aug. 4. Earlier in the tournament, the USA defeated Spain, 74-66, in second-round pool play.
